CURRENT TRANSDUCER PROVIDES DIRECT 0-5 VDC OUTPUT CR Magnetics is pleased to introduce a new, high accuracy, UL approved, AC Current to 0-5 VDC transducer. The Series 4310 Current Transducer is a fully isolated, self-powered transducer that generates a 0-5 Volt DC signal proportional to the average RMS value of the input current. The unit features accuracy up to 0.5% full scale over an operating range of -30 C to +60 C. With a fast response time of 250 ms. from 10% to 90% of full scale, the transducer can effectively monitor rapidly changing motor loads in a production environment.

To fit many scientific applications, the transducer is available in 10 different ranges from 0-5 Amp AC through 0-200 Amps AC at operating frequencies of 50/60 Hz. Using a plastic molded case, an insulation class of 600V is achieved. Each unit is permanently calibrated to provide years of trouble-free service.

Transient suppression devices are incorporated into the transducer to limit the output voltage to 12 VDC during overload conditions caused by short circuits or motor inrush currents. The transducer measures 2.75" high and requires a panel mounting area of 2.36" by 2.69". An oversize window opening of .93" dia. allows ample clearance for most wire sizes carrying up to 200 Amps.

Other methods of construction utilize an external current transformer connected to a remote transducer. When constructed using these two separate units they must be calibrated separately and when connected together yield a reduced system accuracy. The new Series 4310 transducer overcomes this limitation by housing the current sensing transformer and electronic controlling circuit together in one enclosure. This new method of construction allows all the components to be calibrated together, providing a much higher accuracy along with long term temperature stability. Further benefits are gained from lower unit cost and reduced installation time.
